A Beginning
As an individual who spent his wonderful childhood in Iran, but had the opportunity to live in other countries, I cannot but help look back at Iran in sadness. At this juncture of history, Iran is one of the few countries able to influence global affairs. Yet, the historically audacious people of Iran have allowed their home to be taken over by a group of reactionary, power-hungry, and backward mullahs. Culture, religion, society, and humanity have vanished as people have become more alienated from themselves and their fellow citizens. Yet there is hope. There is always hope.
With 2,700 years of history, the pendulum has swung back and forth between adversity and prosperity. While thirty-four years is a lifetime for some, in the context of Iranian history, the past thirty-four years have been nothing but a trivial blip in the overall trajectory of a great nation.
This blogger does not claim to have any answers to Iran’s problems. However, he has hope. He has hope in the people of Iran, and he has hope that the arch of history always bends towards justice. By writing this blog, he seeks to highlight the potential of Iran and Iranians, and begin a discourse involving various perspectives on Iran.
